Jonah

The book of Jonah explores the contrast between God's merciful character and Jonah's assumptions about what God is really like. While Jonah proves to be disobedient, unrepentant and unconcerned for the Ninevites, "they" themselves repent at Jonah's warning - exposing Jonah's vindictive nature against God's compassion. Jonah's experience prompts self-reflection: What am I really like? Do I share Jonah's skewed perspective, or will I embrace God's heart for all people?
